The Frozen River might be one of my favorite books (or maybe THE best one) I’ve read this year. I recommended it to my mom who also loved it. Part of it is the time period I love as well, but you just don’t see many books set in colonial or early America.
If it exists, could you recommend books as good as this one specifically set in the Colonial Period? It can be as early as the first settlements and as late as 1812.

Sorry I couldn’t think of any from the Colonial Period. However if you like The Frozen River and also enjoyed Little Women you would like Marmee by Sarah Miller. I went into as a whatever read and was totally floored by how impressed I was. It’s set in the civil war time period with some flashbacks to her earlier life.
