Hi all!
I'm looking for a few book rerecommendations on something I could co read with my hubby. I love high fantasy/ some contemporary / but pretty much anything fiction. When I read for myself I do read mostly romance hybrid novels but I think we'd want to stear away from that or at least have it be closed door where I want to make sure we're both cool reading out loud (I don't want to traumatize the boy LOL).
The tricky part is my husband has the opposite taste in books (has read and enjoyed a few history books and some classics) but has compromised on urban fantasy, and I could read a historical drama type novel.
Additional book notes:
– completed series or standalone
– we both love a good action/fight scene – bonus points if accurate discription
– Do we want to overthrow the ruling evil government? Yes!
– I'd personally would want to avoid a post apocalypse setting but that is not a deal breaker.
– Doesn't have to be a recent novel, can be from anytime and from wherever with a good translation published!

Michael Crichton’s **Timeline** has a group of grad students go back to 14th century France to investigate a mystery while another group stays in the present to assist/protect them. Much of the story is set in the past, depicting the brutality of life back then.
