I am looking for books besides mystery/detective that don't have a lot of useless description. I like how the author Keigo Higashino just states what is important using simple, yet effective language, and doesn't babble on about useless detail that doesn't really pertain to the plot.

Is there anything similar in style to: The Devotion of Suspect X, Malice

Books with too much detail: The Darkness That Comes Before, The Collector

Top Genres In Order I'm Interested In: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, anything else besides romance

I know there are other Keigo Higashino books like this, but I am looking for mainly fantasy or sci-fi books with a similar writing style.
