Hello hello – I feel like I'm a typical ex-reader. Read a lot when I was younger and now I've barely even picked up a book. I used to read things like Warrior Cats, Pretty Girl 13, Paranormalcy, Divergent etc.

More recently I've read The Handmaid's Tale and Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi and enjoyed those. I've watched and read a little bit of Outlander and some other stuff but I've literally just realised I can't find my Kindle atm, rip.

Anyway, I'm looking for some suggestions that you think I might like, here are some more specifics…

I really really don't want it to have YA vibes. When I think about reading stuff like that now it makes me cringe so so hard. I don't really want to be cringing at all. I love romance and stuff, but again if it's too cliche and cringey it's a no :') I want to read some fantasy that is actually for adults lol

    Some things I like…

    • Baldurs Gate 3
    • Genshin Impact/Honkai Star Rail
    • Wuthering Waves
    • Sci-Fi like Alien, Predator, etc.
    • I like the world building of LOTR but the story isn't exactly what I want
    • Unique characters – I think this is quite basic but hopefully you know what I mean? Not cliche again like the whole "My name is Raven blah blah blah and I'm clumsy but also a professional assassin and there are two men in love with me one is a white boy and one is TANNED and I'm actually a princess" and so on… like secret unknown royalty/god is super cool but done right

This might be too specific but also not specific enough, but I'd love some suggestions for what you think might fit this!

    Thanks so much <3

    1. The Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss broke my reading dry spell! It’s a fantasy book with a magic school setting and a roguish, likable character.
