I’m new to reading and need a few recommendations.
So I’m just getting into reading and interested in mystery/crime books. I haven’t really explored romance but I just finished a book that had a little bit of romance in it so I’m open to it if anyone has any suggestions.
Mystery/Crime has tons of subgenres. Can you tell us a little bit more about what you’d like in this area, or your other hobbies/interests/fave shows/movies etc. Not all of this, just something more to go on so we can better help you.
Without knowing anything about what you may actually connect with I will throw this out:
Killers of the Flower Moon (non-fiction, investigative journalism, true crime)
Competitive_Reindeer on
Sherlock Holmes

the secret history is wonderful! saint x is a great mystery/crime book; afterwards you can watch the limited series on hulu (with the same name).
mom_with_an_attitude on
Agatha Christie
Sherlock Holmes
Snow Falling on Cedars

Jeffery Deaver’s Lincoln Rhyme series is amazing
John Douglas has some amazing non fiction books. He was the guy who had a big hand in starting the FBI’s profiling unit. I enjoyed most of these via audiobook.
Lost Girls by Robert Kolker was a good true crime
Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling) Cormoran Strike series is awesome even if her politics are garbage.
