Hey everyone. My girlfriend and I have started doing some buddy reads recently and I’m looking for some options for us to read next.
My girlfriend finds fantasy books the easiest to read, but also enjoys fiction with thriller and mystery aspects. She is a fan of Brandon Sanderson’s stormlight archive series and the Daevabad Trilogy by SA Chakraborty. Some books she has read recently and enjoyed are also Spells for Forgetting, Birnam Wood, and the Inheritance of Orquidia Divina and Klara and the Sun.
I typically prefer reading historical fiction, some sci-fi, and in general novels with some philosophical undertones. Some I’ve read recently and enjoyed are Steppenwolf, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and Dune.
Our first buddy read was The Midnight Library and that was a great blend of our interests; a style of writing that we both enjoy and a plot that we both find engaging and interesting. We are now reading Cloud Atlas and are loving this as well; probably one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. We would greatly appreciate any recommendations you all would have. Thanks!
