I haven't fully read an actual novel in well over a year. I used to love reading, but have found that less books actually interest me. I want to get back into reading more books like these.

Books I like/The only chapter books or novels I have ever fully enjoyed: Ranked from strongest care for to least. (I recommend all of them.) If you know any books similar to any of these, please let me know.

    1. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

2/3. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

2/3. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe

    1. No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai

5-9. Aristotle and Dante Discover The Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz

    5-9. Wonder by R. J. Palacio

5-9. The Wild Robot by Peter Brown

5-9. Year of The Dog, Year of The Rat, and Dumpling Days by Grace Lin

5-9. The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

10-13. The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

10-13. Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin

10-13. I Want to Eat Your Pancreas by Yoru Sumino

10-13. Fish in a Tree by Linda Mullaly Hunt

Thank you so much for your time!!!

Edit: Y'all are the best! I've already gotten so many interesting recommendations! Thank you!

Battle Royale by Kushoun Takami. It’s The Hunger Games before the Hunger Games was written.

The Long Walk by Stephen King: a reality show competition with deadly results before reality competitions were invented.

Hmm… The Scorpion Rules by Erin Bow (because of The Hunger Games and Aristotle and Dante) and maybe A Wolf Called Wander by Roseanne Parry (because of The Wild Robot)?

If you love TFiOS, I highly recommend John’s other books, particularly Looking for Alaska and Turtles All the Way Down. ☺️ Some other recommendations: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay, A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti, and If Tomorrow Doesn’t Come by Jen St. Jude.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera, since you enjoyed TFIOS. Also We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.

It’s narrative non-fiction, not a novel, but I suspect you’d like Homage to Catalonia (George Orwell).

I don’t understand the downvotes in this thread toward OP’s post…

*Hurt Go Happy* by Ginny Rorby

*The Nameless City* by Faith Erin Hicks (1st in graphic novel series)

*How to Disappear Completely and Never be Found* by Sara Nickerson

    7. Also “Me before you” by Jojo Moyes for something similar to “the fault in our stars”!

    8. *Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe* has a [sequel](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristotle_and_Dante_Dive_into_the_Waters_of_the_World) you may want to check out. [Jandy Nelson’s *I’ll Give You the Sun*](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20820994-i-ll-give-you-the-sun) may also be worth looking into.

I remember liking [I. W. Gregorio’s *None of the Above*](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22896551-none-of-the-above?ref=rae_0) around the same time I read *Symptoms of Being Human*, so that’s likely worth checking out.

*if you’re particularly interested in books Generally with gender-non-conforming, non-binary, or intersex characters I have a bunch of other recommendations along those lines, so let me know if that’s something you’re looking for!
