I'm just curious about correlation and causation. Im currently listening to my first Salman rushdie book (midnights children) and have been physically reading shantaram, both of which revolve around bombay. It's very curious when the book I read earlier (the secret history) had references to rushdie as a legend. Also, last but not least, a podcast (the English history podcast) describes English as having proto indo European origins. These same origins are said to have evolved into sanskrit (among many others) which is one of indias many languages. I know that's a lot, and I'm naive so bare with me, but do you think some of this translates into native Indians dialect as more alluring for other English speakers? Any examples of good metaphors or related material are welcome. It's a fascinating story and any hunches or conspiracy would be welcome too!
