Help! I'm an avid reader of YA, but I'm quickly realizing I'm not a Young Adult anymore, so I feel like I should find some authors/series/new genres and expand my pallette. Some books I like (some aren't YA, I realize that, and maybe it'll help bring new suggestions):
Lord of the Rings/Hobbit
Harry Potter
ACOTAR
John Green/Hank Green
Throne of Glass
Six of Crows
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

If you want something that isn’t YA/sci-fi/fantasy that has a sense of humor similar to Douglas Adams, check out P.G. Wodehouse.
If you like John Green you’ll enjoy Fredrik Backman. I recommend Beartown but really anything of his is good
*Perdido Street Station* by China Mieville
*The Moon is a Harsh Mistress* by Robert Heinlein
*All My Friends are Superheroes* by Andrew Kaufman
*All Systems Red* by Martha Wells
If you’d like to expand your palette and genre jump, I recommend:
**Nonfiction**:
**The Raft** by Robert Trumbull (WWII ocean survival)
**Into Thin Air** by Jon Krakauer (‘96 recounting of The Everest disaster; Krakauer has an easy style)
**A Higher Calling** by Adam Makos
**Adult fiction**:
**The Door-to-Door Bookstore** by Carsten Henn
**The Lion** by Joseph Kessel
**Classic**:
**Animal Farm** by George Orwell
**Sci-fi/thriller**:
Almost anything by Michael Crichton, particularly **Sphere**
One I think you might enjoy based on what you listed (even if they are similar genres):
**The Neverending Story** by Michael Ende
