    Hi all,

I just finished Zero Stars, Do Not Recommend and loved it. I’m looking for another book that can be silly and absurd, but stays grounded with real characters in our modern age and setting. I delighted in the humor of Zero Stars, Do Not Recommend. The closest I could think of in another book I enjoyed was maybe Several People Are Typing. The books are very different, but both had absurd humor and normal daily life mixed in, as well as the weird humor of normal reactions in heightened situations.

I guess I don’t really know what I’m looking for but if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. I love Catherine Friend’s *Hit By a Farm*. About a lesbian couple who move to Wisconsin to become sheep ranchers, much against the author’s inclinations. Had me ROTFL, particularly at the goat part.

*Margo’s Got Money Troubles*, by Rufi Thorpe. The MC gets into a situation that could be turned into a depressing story (single mom at 19), but instead becomes an absolutely wild ride, quite funny at times, about getting creative to make money, finding support in unexpected places, and found family/community. I really, really loved it.
