Im 12 years old, and i really love classic books and how well written they are and even if the topic is deep and heavy i'm very intrested in it. I love books that makes me want to tear up and it just feels so sad, so if you have any recommendation i'd love to hear it!

Frankenstein: The original
Carmilla: Inspired Dracula, which popularized vampires.
Gormenghast: Inspiration for many fantasy authors, one being **J.R.R. Tolkien.**
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: I read this on a whim and it’s pretty damn good.
I am Legend: It popularized the concept of zombie outbreaks. And the movie is pretty good.
I would recommend you read Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm and probably Martian Chronicles. Bradbury was my first peek into classic literature. If you want something more depressing, go with the Russians. Dostoyevsky it’s a good idea (Crime and Punishment, tho it’s a little bit long).
I read Frankenstein when I was your age, and I loved it. If you’d really like to challenge yourself, The Plague by Camus is fantastic.
Where The Red Fern Grows, Wilson Rawls. The Celebrated Jumping Frog Of Calaveras County,Mark Twain. Is a short story and a good introduction to Twain
Cold Sassy Tree, Ann Burns . A young man’s experiences with his family and hometown.in Georgia.A Painted House the same but Arkansas. The Great Santini, Pat Conroy. A very complex military family dynamic tale. Told by the eldest daughter. This author is a master. Would recommend anything by him. Dumas , The Musketeer series.Action adventure done so well it’s selling a couple hundred years later
The Hobbit
The Earthsea books by Ursula K. Le Guin
