TLDR I’m looking for books similar to Prescott’s Extinction series, AG Riddles Atlantis Gene, and/or the Davinci code.
I feel almost guilty admitting I’m looking for more books like these, because when it comes to my personal library these are certainly not what I would consider the best written, or most meaningful of stories, but they’re akin to what I’d call a “popcorn movie.” They may not change your worldview or leave you stunned, but sometimes it’s just nice to watch a fast paced summer movie with explosions and page turning excitement.
Specifically what I absolutely loved about the extinction series, and what was present as well to some degree in the other two books mentioned, is the time spanning mystery that involves some or all of the following: everything from ancient civilizations, archeology, modern and theoretical science such as genetics and quantum entanglement, alien intelligence, conspiracies, physics, history, etc.
Despite feeling like these types of books are a bit.. idk.. not the “greatest ever written”, I’ve decided that ultimately if I enjoy reading it, what’s it matter if it’s not the greatest science fiction ever put to paper?
