My 13 month has gotten very into reading. Which is great, but I’m getting bored reading the same simple picture books over and over. We have a repertoire of familiar bedtime and letter books which she enjoys interacting with, but she also enjoys flipping through new books as well.
I’m looking for books that have a lot of pictures in them, as more than a few lines of text per page and she gets bored. I’d like things that are upbeat when read out loud – she does not like “Green Eggs and Ham”, and I think it’s because the voices are negative and upset. My favorite so far had been “A Pocket for Corduroy” by Don Freeman because there are lots of interesting pictures for her and a bit more of an involved and not predictable plot for me. I’m not necessarily looking for kids books, I’d just like something with happy vibes, no curse words, and no sex or violence.

There is a graphic novel of the Last Unicorn. It is very beautiful.
Maybe some science-y books? My kids love those. DK publishes some really nice ones.
Maybe the Little Bear stories? I love the illustrations!
