Edit: I need more diversity, less mainstream white people. The big sellers like Koontz, Card, Asimov, etc we have on our shelves and they've not went out since 2020.
I'm a librarian in a tiny hamlet (less than 600 people) and we haven't picked our own books in 10 or so years. Prior to being hired we used book subscriptions. So our collection is very vanilla and people don't tend to stray from the mainstream authors, though our regulars are running out of books and I'd love to give them some extra suggestions. I'm trying to liven things up and make a more diverse collection. I need help finding authors that are like if you like X then you should try Y.
Our biggest authors right now are:
James Patterson
Stephen King
Clive Cussler
Lee Child
Danielle Steel
Stuart Woods
Nora Roberts
Coleen Hoover
Our biggest genre currently is Amish romance and Spy/Espionage type books, very little gore. I've also gotten requests for more spicy romance that isn't full of princesses and wizards.

Get some Dean Koontz, James Rollins, Ian Fleming, Jules Verne, Victor Hugo, Alexander Dumas, Katherine Kurtz, David Eddings, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card and Anne McCafferey just to name a few.
Michael Connelly
John Sandford
Jeffrey Deaver
Janet Evanovich
John Marrs
Hmm, I’m sensing a theme here lol
I think I was reading Dean Koontz before I started with Stephen King. It’s been years since I’ve read Kootz, but he’s good and worth checking out if you enjoy horror/thriller. I second Aggrevating_Rub_7609 suggestion of it.
Also Enders Game (Orsen Scott Card) is amazingly well written and if you like sci-fi at all. I highly suggest at least the first book in that series.
