Shel Silverstein wrote some hilariously wicked things for adults. I'm trying to track down one story that I can't remember the name of. It's about a judge with a unique sense of justice.
The details below are borderline SPOILERS, but may be helpful in identifying the story:
When a rapist claims a pure heart and blames his "Johnson" for the crime, this remarkable judge agrees that Johnson must go to prison. Johnson's kind, innocent, pure-hearted acquaintance has the choice: he can accompany Johnson to jail as a kindness to his friend… or he and "Johnson" can part ways forever, so Johnson can serve the time alone.
I would welcome any leads on this story. Thank you!
