I actually enjoy book series, rather than a single book. I'm a voracious reader and will probably have read your suggestions, but am happy to see if you come up with something new. I read ya, scifi, fantasy, historical fiction (Outlander), and action. Please help me come up with my new obsession!

If you’re open to very long books, I recommend my favorite: [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard. It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
You’ve probably already covered by Conn Iggulden by now – but if not great for some epic reading..
“The Tale of Genji” by Murasaki Shikibu

I have no idea which of these you may have read already, but here’s some mostly sci fi series that I have liked:
* The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Obsession-worthy space fantasy. The fourth book isn’t out yet.
* The Culture series by Iain M. Banks. Space opera, fairly long, but it is complete because the author is deceased so there are no more books. You can read the books in any order and I usually recommend people start with The Player of Games.
* The Hainish cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin. Much better-known classics than The Culture, but about similar things. I like to imagine that the Hainish cycle is the distant past of The Culture.
* Three Parts Dead by Max Gladstone. First in an urban fantasy series.
* The Imperial Radch series by Ann Leckie. Space opera. The first three are a trilogy, the later two are stand alone. I personally like Provenance the best.
* The Fortress series by C. J. Cherryh. Fantasy. This author has written **a lot** of books, including a lot of series, so if you end up liking her slower paced, character driven style, there’s plenty more.
* The Otherland series by Tad Williams. Most of what this author wrote is fantasy, but the Otherland series is sci fi.
Wayward Pines series by Blake Crouch
