I have seen HBO Rome a few times and watch a ton of vids on yt from historia civilis, Kings and Generals, etc, that explain ancient battles with detail. Also would like to read actual writings from Caesar, Cicero (I know he wrote a lot), not sure if Augustus has written material by his hand like Marcus Aurelius with Meditations, so you could say I’m more interested in the late republic era.
So anything you can recommend that are top notch resources be appreciated.

Adrian Goldsworthy books are very good and very readable.
SPQR by classicist Mary Beard is an accessible book detailing aspects of the Roman Empire that you probably haven’t learned about before
