I love when books can effectively pull off misleading the reader with how the plot is laid out. I mean things like following multiple plot lines simultaneously only to discover later they take place at entirely different times (or vice versa). Or making you think you’re reading about one character/group when it’s someone else. Or blurring lines between real life, dreams, hallucinations, etc. so that you as the reader aren’t clear what’s what.
Obviously some of the appeal of these books comes from not knowing when you’re being misled, so as little details about the plot as possible would be great!
