I’m looking for a book, this is what I’m after.

-some type of fantasy of sci-fi setting. I would like some characters to have some kind of abilities.
-Main characters are adults.
A specific type of love dynamic. No love triangle. Male love interest who’s a little bit emo/ outcasted but not straight up abusive.
-The main objective of the story or the ending isn’t based on ending up with the guy.
- a non insufferable protagonist. I hated ACOTAR. It read as such a “I’m not like the other girls” kind of book. I stopped reading when I figured that the plot had something to do with an ultra hot elf falling for a regular human who’s “plain” but secretly also very attractive.
-Protagonist doesn’t have to be super edgy, it could just be about interacting with the world through their eyes.
-includes trauma hurt/comfort
-includes other characters and relationships as-well
