My wife started the audiobook for The Billionaire’s Accidental Bride series without realizing how long it was and is now trapped. For those who don’t know, it’s 5 books, with 1310 chapter total.
While she has been enjoying it, she’s the type to ignore everything until she finishes the story she’s reading. With a series as long as this, it’s starting to have a negative impact on her life. Normally when this happens, she looks up a summary of the series that answers all her questions. This time, she hasn’t been able to find anything about it, leaving her trapped.
What strategies do you use when you need to put down a series that’s good, but it’s time to move on?

I looked it up on Audible. It’s only 4 hours and 20 minutes if it’s the one by Kimmy Love. That’s a really short audiobook actually.
When I caught myself obsessively listening to an audiobook type thing that sounds very similar to your wife’s I set myself a loose schedule where I listen about an hour a day before I go to bed. On weekends and days I don’t have much to do I might listen all day for 8+ hours but I try not to do that more than a day a week. I do my other reading during the day and when I finish this 1,300+ chapter book I won’t be picking up another one like it. I’m creeping up on chapter 500 and manage to get through about 100 chapters every week and a half or so. The only reason I don’t try to cheat it is because I do really enjoy the characters in this story and want to continue living in the world so I made the listening more manageable for me. Maybe your wife can try something similar?
It’s 1310 episodes long with a play time of 223 hours. I’m only on 240 and was hoping I was getting to the end! Addictive
Dear god what did I do. I am only on episode 10 ugh. I just came across this today but didn’t know it was that long.
This is not okay to do to people like I seriously downloaded an app for 1 story that is going to put a hole in my pocket so check this out there are over 1300 episodes which shorten from like 10 to 7 minutes they give you an option to buy coins after you get into the story and get this 299 episodes are $99.99 I’m 59 episodes in and they started with coins and jumped to episodes so not only do I have to wait a day for 7 free episodes but I’m also getting ripped off bc even tho they show you that you save coins if you buy them in episodes but they don’t even give you an option to just download the whole audio they want you to spend almost 400$ to complete the whole thing when in actual reality you can download something like audible and pay less than 20 a month and get way more reads that’s insanity to me in my brain I made up my own ending and called it a day I can find another book way more interesting and less expensive or I’ll just watch a movie and save myself the headache of having to pay for an episode every 7-10 minutes

So I too have started this podcast and was searching for the ending once I saw how long this podcast is. This is what I found out.
This podcast is the u.s.a. Adaption from the book series “the trial husband marriage by honey passion” the author may have been (passion honey) anyhow it was originally a Chinese book that was translated but because in the English version the names were still left as Chinese names like “Mo” the podcast has changed the names to more desirable names like “Eric”
The podcast is the 4 book series but the 5th book isn’t out yet so even when the podcast is finished it’s not the end of the series 🤦🏽♀️
I’m starting to wonder if this is more like a comic book and the story never ends😳
I’m on episode 200 but after finding this information I’m contemplating to stop listening or drastically lower the amount of time I have been listening. (I’ve been similar to your wife in the way I’ve been currently listening)
I’m actually familiar with the series you’re talking about. It’s the one about Emma Miller. Truth be told, the main story about becoming a top model and revenge on Amber and Nathan wraps up pretty quickly in the larger scheme of the entire series. The problem is the story keeps reinventing her in different roles and bringing up new enemies and challenges, and she has a combination of the Devil’s luck and extraordinary behind the scenes resources helping her. She’s also one of those “better than the best at everything” tropes. Eric is the “impossibly rich, endlessly powerful and infallibly loyal” trope. Honestly I got hooked too, and I’m up to something like chapter 580 or 590.
Depending on whether your wife wants to continue the story or not, I can easily say Emma always overcomes every obstacle, although as the story progresses, some of the ways that it happens become more than a little far fetched. The trials she endures or encounters become more and more outlandish or extreme. In one of the more recent cases I listened to, the way they obtained video evidence is so unlikely almost anyone would have rolled their eyes. It also, out of necessity, has to deviate away to lesser character storylines to fill up space. Based on that your wife may not want to keep paying for the story, because in a lot of ways it starts becoming a bit like a soap opera.

I’m on a chapter 1240 right now but pocket fm gives you the option to gain free coins to listen to extra chapters. I’ve earned $150 so since I’m near the end I went ahead and got the $99 package, no money spent on my end. So I have enough coins to finish it hopefully before the month is out. This is the longest story I’ve ever read or listened to. I started last year and picked up again this summer once they started the free coins. I will say the story is very interesting and it fast forward 25yrs into the future which I was surprised. But it’s still good and I listen every night and morning.
I just seen the Facebook ad for this and i really wanted to watch this as a movie. Now I see why this was just a way to suck you in. Thanks everyone for the warning as its not worth the time investment. I just wanted to know if they told the world they got married and if it worked out. I didnt want to get a life long investment
