Suddenly I saw a video about some man saying that the book was racist and heathcliff was a representation of this anti-Gypsy or anti-Romani prejudice that was prevalent on this time period, but I digress with his statements, as while heathcliff real ethnicity is never explicitly stated, including the fact that is the abuse caused by racism, that turns him into what he becomes. Literally all the misery that destroys both kids life is caused by society pushing heathcliff down, even if he turns bad later and can reinforce supposedly bad stereotypes, he is shown somewhat sympathetic as a kid like an innocent kid in the bed with little Cathy enjoying nature. The book is also narrated by an unreliable narrator.
