Book for long distance couple to read together

Bf and I are long distance and are trying to be less reliant on our phones to ‘do things’ together. Neither of us are big readers but wanted to try reading books together.

I love romance, mystery, and fantasy. He enjoys things like those nosleep stories and cryptic fantasy. Sexy scenes are a plus 👀

The only dealbreaker is I will not enjoy reading crazy amounts of gore. And if it is romance I need to be able to order it with an inconspicuous cover because he will be reading it at work and works on a job site with people who would give him a tough time.
