Since I’ve started reading again about 2 years ago the only novels I’ve really read were sci-fi and fantasy. I want to expand the books I read

Any genre is OK, preferably ones with strong characters like the Hyperion cantos and the Expanse. I’m not the greatest fan of ideas/philosophy driven novels like Dune or the rememberance of Earths past where the novel is more used for the author to get his/her ideas across

So no fantasy and scifi.. The long sleep? Asimov did a great version of the pi, chandler was the boss tho

If you just want real world fiction you have to pick a direction

11/22/63 by Stephen King. It’s a look at trying to change the future by traveling back to change a pivotal event in the past. It’s long and you will not be able to put it down. Vastly different than his usual horror-based novels.

I suspect you’d appreciate time travel books that attempt to change history but aren’t categorized as sci-fi or fantasy. Some I’ve enjoyed are as follows:

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

How to Stop Time by Matt Haig

Time and Again by Jack Finney

      Happy reading!
