The best books I think I have read were gone girl, and the family upstairs by Lisa Jewell. These were both first books I read after huge amounts of not reading for ages so maybe was a big contributor to being so gripped and not being able to put them down but I feel like I’ve been chasing that feeling, and just can’t find anything that I’m that into. I do like all the Lisa Jewell books I have read but I want to read something else. I’ve read one frieda McFadden book and hated it, and I’ve read a lot of Colleen Hoover and don’t really like those either. I read a comment that said they both write like they have used AI and I can’t unsee it. I am in some book groups on fb and I feel like it’s just the same books posted about over and over (mostly verity and Friedas so I don’t even trust their opinions at this rate)

I’m reading The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson and it’s phenomenal. It’s Sci fi but the main character is so layered, it’s not “good vs bad”. I also recently read Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler and it might be one of the greatest post apocalyptic books ever written. Major trigger warnings but honestly so brilliant.
