I’m getting back into reading and got a library card. I enjoy thriller/mystery fiction novels. As a general rule I prefer a female main character but that’s not set in stone. I’m not interested in a series.
I’ve recently enjoyed books by Sally Hepworth, Lisa Jewell, and Mary Kubica.
Suggestions? Thanks!

You might like Lucy Foley.
No Exit by Taylor Adams is good with a female lead. Also good Hulu movie.
Louisa luna’s thrillers are awesome, and have a great female lead—a former bounty hunter who tracks down the missing. Super tense, real and not gratuitously gory.
try Two Girls Down.
Silence of the Lambs
My favourite “mystery” I’ve read recently is *The Maid* by Nita Prose.
My favourite “thriller” is *Birnam Wood* by Eleanor Catton.
I just finished Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney and enjoyed it.
All the Little Raindrops is a psychological thriller. It’s dark! I’ve recommended it a ton because it’s the best book I’ve read this year.
Just read “The Book of Cold Cases” by Simone St.James which is a thriller with supernatural elements.
You may also enjoy “Sharp Objects” by Gillian Flynn.
James Rollins Sigma Force has several female main characters, though the mainest characters are male.
If you like Lisa Jewell check out Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies is probably her best known book). Amazing female characters and lots of twisty plots.
* *One of Us is Lying* by Karen McManus
* *The Guest List* by Lucy Foley
