Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman perhaps?
“a woman is no man” by etaf rum. it’s about a very young muslim woman in an abusive marriage. it follows her from palestine, where she meets her husband, to brooklyn ny, where she moves after she marries him. she is so depressed and lonely, and it makes it worse that she keeps birthing daughters rather than a son. and it also follows her daughters years later after she passes. i highly enjoyed it.
The New Me by Halle Butler
The midnight library by Matt haig. It’s very depressing in the first part, but it picks up once she gets to the midnight library. It was such a good book and changed the way I view life
Sorrow & Bliss might fit your query.
Seven Blades in Black by Sam Sykes
Wild by Cheryl Strayed
White Oleander by Janet Fitch
Everything You Ever Wanted by Luiza Sauma
None of This is Serious by Catherine Prasifka
Animal by Lisa Taddeo
The Truants by Kate Weinberg
I just suggested this book on another post, Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. It’s soooo good.
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It’s autobiographical and talks about depression and mental illness as honestly as I’ve ever read.
