I'm looking for books or series set in the medieval age….preferably minimal or no "magic". Something with day to day stuff or having to travel through for a quest etc. I used to read lots of Fantasty so something similar but without dragons/magic – more dark themed

Brother Cadfael series by Ellis Peters
Both are mysteries.
The Physician- Noah Gordon (very questy with cool historical descriptions of daily life)
Pillars of the Earth- Ken Follet (questy with dark themes)
Matrix- Lauren Groff (thoughtful and dark at times)
Lapvona- Ottessa Moshfegh (very dark and unusual)
