Fantasy books that are safe birthday gifts for an adult
I'm looking for popular fantasy books that you could gift another person without worrying too much if they will like it. I mean you can't know for sure but if you had to bet, what book would you
I have a feeling you’re talking about someone who’s not yet that deeply invested in the genre. My ‘love language’ is giving so I’m used to this
1. Fantasy novels that already had live adaptations. Better yet, choose ones with covers of their respective tv shows. It always perks up their interest
2. Retellings of mythology
3. The Name of the Wind – Rothfuss, I know, but it’s surprisingly is a popular gift among my friend group and even with their family, Kvothe’s struggles during his younger years has some relatable element to it that it somehow never fails. Also it captures the reader’s attention right from the intriguing first few chapters
4. The Priory of the Orange Tree – it’s such a pretty book.
5. The Lies of Locke Lamora – same with Name of the Wind, first few chapters will already hook readers immediately, so if the receiver will just skim first, they’re already invested
