Looking for a good paced series whether it be dystopian/horror or fantasy/horror. I would prefer the series to be a trilogy but it doesn’t matter if it’s not . If you need a better description then just let me know and thank you!

    1. The Wayward Pines Trilogy by Blake Crouch!!

Mixes thriller, dystopian, & horror elements, where you follow a secret service agent who’s trapped in a weird/very unsettling town. Super fast-paced and suspenseful, a great fall series to start!

You could check out **Wayward Pines** trilogy by Blake Crouch. It’s maybe right on the line between sci-fi/fantasy (but explaining why is a spoiler), but it’s also definitely a horror. The MC is a secret service agent sent to a small, idyllic town in Idaho to investigate the disappearance of two colleagues. But right off the bat, there seems to be something very weird and creepy about the town. It gives a bit of *Stepford Wives* vibe at first – the town and everyone in it seem a little TOO perfect. Crouch does a great job of dragging the secret out slowly, so while there is definitely horror in the first book, it’s (mostly) from dread/anticipation about wtf is going on. But then the other two books bump up the horror a level or two.

Also, the **Southern Reach** trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer is excellent cosmic horror (first book is called *Annihilation*). In a secluded part of America’s coastline, weird, otherworldly phenomena are taking place, and the area seems to be growing (and thus threatening populated areas of the country). The government has quarantined the area, and even the existence of the mysterious Area X is top secret. The government has sent several teams into the area for reconnaissance, but they come back having gone mad, if they come back at all. The first book starts when they send in the 13th or 14th team (iirc).
