I would love to read a book about the general perception/opinion/concerns of any sort of historic event. With the current technological advancements being focused on AI and fears of losing ones occupation to it, I started to wonder how people in the past perceived these sort of (possible) world changing advancements.
To give some examples of what I'm looking for:
-When the tractor was invented I've heard that some people were afraid of loosing their jobs
-When electricity was first introduced into english homes, people died because of uninsulated wires and inexperience with the technology. Following this, some people said electricity kills and should not be brought into the house
I think understanding peoples fears and doubts or hopes and anticipation of the past can be a valuable resource to understand some present emotional misgivings better
