I recently came around this graphic which split the world in 5 types:
Fairytale Worlds: a near-utopia world where almost everyone is kind and innocent. Sometimes there may be a looming evil, but nothing to difficult to defeat
Heroic worlds: a relatively good place where the heroic ideal is alive and well in most people's hearts. However such kindness isn't as common as in fairytale worlds
Noblebright worlds: a world that looms on the balance between good and evil, making every good deed count
Gilded worlds: evil and dark hearts lie beneath a pretty surface. Suffering and misery are commonplace
Grimdark worlds: something within the world has gone terribly wrong and nothing but suffering exists for those unfortunate enough to find themselves there
Since most of the books I read lean more towards the darker side, I'm interested where you'd put your favorite fantasy books and what you'd recommend for these different types
