Hello, readers! I recently watched a film titled On the Beach at Night Alone by Korean director Hong Sang-soo, about a washed up actress who had an affair with a married film director. The overall aesthetic of the film was hazy yet direct to the point with a unique subtlety with every scene describing how lonely the female lead really was, walking along the shore or drinking with acquaintances while holding back the emotions surging out of you yet failing. If you have watched any films made by director Hong you would know the vibe I'm talking about. It's all very poetic.
Now I know this is a shot in the dark but could anyone suggest a short book with the same vibe (even a different plot), a lonely lead with a dilemma.
