Last year, I devoured the Beartown trilogy, and once I finished all three books, I couldn’t bring myself to read anything else for months. No other book even came close to making me feel what Beartown did. Eventually, I started reading again—some were great, others not so much—but nothing compared to Backman’s brilliance.
Recently, I picked up The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne, and for the first time in over a year, I felt like I had found another masterpiece. It’s easily one of the best standalones I’ve ever read. But now, I’m back in that space—wondering if anything will ever fill the void.
So, hit me with book recommendations that gave you that same feeling. Genre doesn’t matter—I’m open to exploring. Thanks in advance!
