(Yes I have explored all other living options, including DV centers – this is my best bet is to hurry up and wait)

Every day feels like a year waiting on a long waitlist for legal aid. I just desperately want to have everything done with and be able to finally heal. There are kids involved so it makes things even harder. I hate living with him.

What are some fiction books you can suggest to keep my strength and keep going? A few I have read that have either given me comfort or something to relate to (adding that I’ve tried and liked Becky Chambers but her books are too gentle for what I’m looking for):

    – *The Echo Wife* by Sarah Gailey
    – *The Yellow Wallpaper* by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
    – *Piranesi* by Susanna Clarke
    – *The Four Winds* by Kristin Hannah
    – *The Second Life of Mirielle West* by Amanda Skenandore
    – *Circe* by Madeline Miller (I’ve also read *Song of Achilles* but not quite what I’m looking for)
    – *Galatea* by Madeline Miller
    – *The Songs of Penelope* series #1 & #2 by Claire North
    – *A Thousand Ships* by Natalie Haynes
    – *Broken Earth trilogy* by N.K. Jemisin
    – *The Bandit Queens* by Parini Shroff
    – *Remnant Population* by Elizabeth Moon
    – *The Woman They Could Not Silence* by Kate Moore (non fiction, not looking for non fiction but this is in the same vein)
    – *The Power* by Naomi Alderman
    – *The Handmaid’s Tale* & *The Testaments* by Margaret Atwood
    – *The Henna Artist* by Alka Joshi

    Thank you!
