I could not tell you what the guy’s name was in Denis Johnson’s Train Dreams. Nor anybody in Between Two Fires, the horror-fantasy sleeper sensation. Unlike The Great Gatsby, All the King’s Me is more about its narrator than Huey Long-standin Willie Stark – but I couldn’t tell you his name. I remember the names of Billy Pilgrim and Kilgore Trout – but not of anyone else from Vonnegut.
