… without the explicit sex scenes. I absolutely loved A Court of Mist and Fury, but I would have liked it better without some of the scenes. I’ve tried other series like The Selection and I liked it but I felt like the story wasn’t as deep and intricate as ACOTAR. I’ve read Red Queen and I’m mostly through Glass Sword but I don’t like how fast/ adrenaline heavy it is. I’ve read Throne of Glass, but I haven’t read any other books in the series.
So here’s what I feel like I’m looking for: A series with long books. Preferably fantasy or sci-fi with an in-depth world, and moments when you can have glimpses of what that world could look like at peace. Romance, without the super explicit scenes, preferably with the characters getting to know each other and their relationship building over time. Romance as an integral part of the story, but not the only part of the story (I don’t like when the romance seems like an after thought or when it’s the only reason for the characters existence). I also don’t like it when characters cheat on each other or when a big part of the story is them doing something wrong and they could be caught doing it. Something that I can read multiple times and enjoy. And an ultimately happy ending (I was traumatized by a book where a kid has to kill his pet deer at the end so his family doesn’t starve. Please nothing like that!) I’m also really looking for a long series (20 hour audio books are my friend) but it’s ok if it’s a really good stand alone book or shorter series. Any recommendations?

Best fit, imo, is the Symphony of Ages. {{Rhapsody, by Haydon}} is the first book
