    For reference:

there's a scene in the new Moriarty book (mild spoilers) where a character is thinking back to the death of his father, which happened while he was in the airport on the way to see him. Tragically, he'd been stuck at the baggage claim for his sister to get her luggage.

In the prose, the character was like, "She CHECKED A BAG to go see our dad die". (this, but in an australian accent.)

And immediately I, the reader, responded in kind, like I was on facetime with this guy, "Your sister CHECKED A BAG to go see your dad die??"

I've read every single Liane Moriarty book, and I loved all of them because there's always 200 moments exactly like this. Funny, cute, REALISTIC human drama, and I can relate to everybody. I can imagine both being the brother, being like WHY TF WOULD YOU CHECK A BAG??? And the sister, like BUT WE WERE GONNA STAY THERE FOR A WHILE!!

So that's essentially the vibe that I'm looking for.

Sorry, I understand it may be too specific, but if anyone has any ideas I'll be very grateful to hear them. Thank you!!
