Awhile back I finally started getting into reading books. I’m obsessed with learning anything about greek culture and mythology in a fictional storytelling form. I finished Song Of Achilles which I really liked and I now started reading Mythos by Stephen Fry. Two of my favourite books are the Legend of the Sleepy Hollow and Thumbelina.
I’ve been very interested in other mythologies and folk tales too, like Scottish, Swedish, Polish and so on. E.g books about Nessie, Baba Jaga, trolls and fairies etcetera.
I was wondering if there are any books you’d recommend based on my former reads. I’m looking books who are less mainstream too, I’d love some factual and historically correct books too about certains cultures and their way of living with myths.

Richard Chase is the modern folklorist who collected the Jack Tales of the Appalachians. His book on Jack Tales is still one of the best for regional tales.

I highly recommend the Iron Druid series, really entertaining and it includes every god / mythical creature you can think of plus a few on top as bonus
