I've found nonfiction, and I've found children's books. But I really want something that transports me. I find that I learn really well from reading fiction, it's my favorite way to engage another's perspective, and that's why I'm seeking primarily a fictional account. I want to look at it from within, not a piece of nonfiction studying it from afar. I've also found a few books where they end up leaving for America, but that isn't what I'm after either. I would like to be fully immersed in the experience to better understand the suffering. Any good ideas? Thanks!
