The Shadow Campaigns by Django Wexler. There’s not really a full world change in act 2, but it is similar to Harry Potter in that the characters are discovering another side to/secrets of the world that they already inhabit. The magic system is cool and it’s integrated really well with political intrigue and action sequences. It’s flintlock fantasy so there are both magical battles and non-magic cannon and gunfire battles. It’s a twist on the chosen one trope and there’s quite a few romantic plot lines throughout. Best of all it’s a completed 5 book series. It has been longer than I remembered since the last book came out though so it’s not quite in the last 5 years (finished in 2018).
