Haven’t seen the movie – here’s some books with strong female characters and action, maybe also some comedy, that spring to mind.
*Killers of A Certain Age*, by Deanna Raybourn, was great – a group of older women assassins suddenly find themselves targeted and have to take action. It definitely had some comedic moments and of course lots of action
*Dreadnought* by April Daniels is a YA superhero novel with a main female protagonist. Loved this and the sequel!
*Black Water Sister* by Zen Cho features a bicultural Malaysian American woman who moves back to Malaysia and some supernatural stuff starts happening. Has some funny moments, also a lot of action and some suspense.
Lighter on the comedy but if you’re cool with futuristic settings, *Binti* by Nnedi Okorafor and *Ocean’s Godori* by Elaine Cho were great! I also liked *Santa Olivia* by Jacqueline Carey
