A comprehensive book about the history of different spots in Paris?

Hi! I will be living in Paris for 6 months while doing minimal remote work. So I will have a lot of time to explore.
I’m imagining a book where the author takes places either spot by spot (for example different buildings or plazas) or neighbourhood by neighbourhood and tells interesting stories about them. So I can kind of visit along.
Does such a book exist?
