Ok I'm in desperate need. I've got a lot going on in life right now and an immersive book would really be helpful. I have been on a losing streak with books lately lol for example, I finally read "The Perfect Wife" after multiple reccomendations, what a disappointment (in my opinion at least, no hate..)

I need a book that isn't corny, fall apart at the end or have a predictable ending or angle. Please take pity on me!!!

    1. Try the novels of Jonathan Kellerman – he’s a child psychologist and all the books have a strong psychological bent and are, I think, absolutely unputdownable. The earlier ones are better, but they’re all good. His hero is Dr Alex Delaware, working with detective Milo Sturgis. ‘Private Eyes’ is a good one to start with. – they are however, best read in order.

A Marriage of Lies by Amanda McKinney

Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

      Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

      Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

A Familiar Sight by Brianna Labuskes

    3. If you like epistolatory mysteries, Janice Hallett does some excellent work with hers; I find them incredibly immersive. My favourite remains her first book, The Appeal, but if you lean towards thrillers I think The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels might be especially appealing.
