Are there adventure books written by women staring a woman?
No tear jerkers or intense love story.
I want some sort of adventure into a real or imagined world.
Adult characters please. I don’t care much for teens adventures at this point.
Bonus if you know about an excellent audio version.

The Obernewtyn series by Isobelle Carmody. It’s YA but I think it still holds up, and the later books in the series are definitely aimed at an older audience and pretty chunky.
**The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi** by S. A. Chakraborty
It’s a pirate adventure in a fantastical 12th century Indian Ocean. The protagonist is a retired pirate who reassembles her former crew for ‘one last job’ … and the aventure unfolds from there, getting wilder by the minute.
The audiobook is one of the best ones I have come across recently, the narrator really brings Amina to life.
