I loved it!
I’ve been steuggling to read for ages,.mental health blah blah blah. I used to always have a book in my hand, but the concentration required has been 5oo m7ch, so I went over to audiobooks.
5his however, may be the book that wins me back over and reignites.my love of reading.
It’s centred around a young girl called Adunni, and follows her life after the death of her mother and being sold as a young bride. I really hope there is a sequel because I need to know ehat happens, if she fulfilled her dreams.
It’s written in Nigerian ‘patois’, for want of a better word, and I thought I’d struggle with it. But once my brain clicked, it only served to make her more endearing.
It wasn’t a difficult read, and if anyone is looking for something just a little different, I’d wholly recommend it. 🙂
Anyone else read it?
