I’ve never really been a book person, I’ve always found it boring and time consuming, turned to tv shows and series instead. Especially if there was a book I had to read (for school maybe), I always did bare minimum to read. Even watching the movie version and then go from there haha.
But I’ve always wished that I was one of those that could just sit all day and read for hours and get fascinated with the stories and tales.
Jumping forward, I’ve been faced forced to read a lot (from reading barely nothing), due to academics and is now studying literature. And I’ve come to realize that reading is actually very nice. It’s quite relaxing. (Duhh :D). And after having time read my idk 100 pages per day for studies. I’ve noticed I kinda like it.
SO, I’m looking for suggestions on books that are a bit easy for beginners. To really get into this universe, and ease into my hopefully new hobby.
I’ve found myself more drawn to adventurous genres, I like when it’s drama and mystery, some romance probably too. I’m not that much into science fiction or action in that sense.
I do have a few classics I want to read. Such as the great gatsby, pride and prejudice, to kill a mockingbird, the adventures of Tom Sawyer and others.
My current book I’m thinking about starting with is Jack Kerouac’s On the road. So if you got any suggestions similar to that I’d love to hear.
I’ve found myself being more interested/drawn to books that’s mentioned in tv shows/movies. Idk why but it’s always been my starting point kinda.
So to conclude this probably unnecessarily long backstory haha:
I’m looking for book suggestions for a beginner reader whose native language is not English. Preferably adventurous or crime/drama related. That is not too many pages (around 300 maximum) for a start.
Thanks!
