Books about the ugly side of childhood nostalgia?

I'm looking for books that are kind of nostalgic about childhood/the character's childhoods but that also include bits about how how the past wasn't exactly great or that nostalgia can be a huge trap, and how adults frequently choose not to remember the worst parts of it. Like It, except I've already read It.
