Currently reading Seneca's "Letters from a stoic" and decided to get as much information as I wanted from it so I can apply it in my life. Yesterday was the first time I've ever taken notes while reading and noticed that it took me out from the experience, especially when I have a rule to read for at least an hour everyday(30 minutes for the first book and another 30 minutes for second book) so most of my time was spend writing it down instead of reading. I don't like highlighting for it ruins my books, but if there is no option I won't really mind it, a small sacrifice to make. What do you guys think?

Wtf does -3 comments mean?
If it’s non-fiction, I don’t mind taking notes during reading but for fiction, if I do take notes, it’ll be at the end of a chapter.
