I watched Hocus Pocus for the first time in like 20 years and the movie made a big deal about Max being a virgin. Traditionally when a “virgin” is required, it’s a female virgin.
Was curious about books that have the whole virgin thing, but said virgin ends up male like Hocus Pocus or maybe the spell/curse *specifically* requires a male virgin. Ideally it goes into more sociological aspect of “(male) virginity” such as what does or doesn’t count or double standards or trying to lose it—stuff like that.
Perfect would be historical fiction horror in the vein of The VVitch, but horror or historical fiction or fantasy would be fine. Just no YA, please.
Bonus points if said male virgin is gay, but that’s completely optional.
