Does anyone know of any work of fiction that's about zombies in their original context as being a metaphor for eternal slavery? Preferably by a Haitian author, but I'm open to any book set in the Americas with a history of slavery. Would also prefer it to not be exploitative about Black pain (so not one where it feels like it was written for the White Gaze). Nothing schlocky, I'm looking for something mature, written from a literary post-colonial mindset.
